Question to Belgians

I am not familiar with Belgian cinema as someone who lives there, so if you can recommend me some notable films in Belgian cinema, even the classics.

I like the Ex Drummer, very European filmmaking. Reminded me of the "Pusher" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117407/) a little bit.

Small gods (2007)

Any way the wind blows (2003) (with Sam Louwyck, who plays Ivan in Ex Drummer)

Eldorado (2008)

Aaltra (2004)

Des plumes dans la tête (2003) (with a wonderful soundtrack by the french artist Sylvain Chauveau)

Verboden te zuchten (2001)

Calvaire (2004)

Nue propriété (2006)

These are my favourites, but they are all very different from each other.

And of course you have "the" belgian movie, "C'est arrivé près de chez vous" (Man bites dog), as said before.

The movies of the Dardenne brothers are very famous, but I don't like them so much.

I hope this will help. Cheers!

Even though I'm Belgian myself I don't particularly like Belgian cinema and "Ex-Drummer" is not an exception. "Ben X" is a film I found somewhat enjoyable as a reference to living with autism and "Daens" is worth watching if you want to catch a glimpse of how horrible life was for 19th century factory workers out here. Other than those, I don't know what to recommend, though.

No-one recommending "Crazy Love"? I'm not Belgian, and even I recognise that as a classic. It's an adaptation of some of Charles Bukowski's work, and it's amazing.
