Dialect

I live in Ostend, where this film takes place. For me it has something of an additional value to see familiar places or to try and find out where some scenes were filmed. Ostend does have a reputation that it attracts people who live near the brink of society, but I think ex-drummer didn't really take itself too serious portraying this group of people.

During the whole film they speak in the local dialect, which I also like, because there aren't actually any other films that I know of that do this and this film also makes good use of some local proverbs. Therefore I wonder, do people who don't speak dutch at all find this annoying or is it something that isn't important when you have subtitles anyway?
