Ending sucks.

Liked the movie up to the ending. What a buzz kill, so mom is dead or in jail, the kid gets raised by the bitch grandmother while getting slapped around by his dad and turns into the next Donny Bonaduce.

I agree what the heck was up with that. the ending should have been they got away. what are you going to do thro they didn't run away till only 20 mins left of the movie.

well, maybe thats just how these storys usually end in real life. Maybe the movie wants to show to the last consequence how these things are..
But I got to admit that I was a bit disappointed too. But now I'm ok with it, since the rest of the movie was quiet realistic and i've seen enough unrealistic (but nice) movies dealing with (more ore less) similar motives...

I don't think the director was trying to satisfy the audience with the ending.

the end was damn confusing...i'm like WTF? I rewound a couple of times and then watched the end commentary. that explained it more but i didn't get why they had to put the beginning to the end. they should've just ended it there...which was basically nowhere. it was a decent movie and the music was really well done to give the proper mood/suspense.
