Review from an actress

So I got my screener copy of "Survival"...thanks Jamie. I was a little apprehensive to see it as I always am when it comes to something that I am in. Its silly, I know, but it really is hard to watch yourself and see yourself as a character versus yourself. Plus you know all the behind the scenes stuff that went on so you tend to spend your time watching the film thinking about that kind of stuff.

But I popped the movie into my laptop, laid out on the bed, took a deep breathe, and pressed play. The first thing that struck me was the opening credits. They were incredible, something you'd see in a big budget film. Very nice job. Very creative. The second thing that struck me was the grindhouse look to the film. I loved it! I think using that effect really made the movie.

Performance-wise, I will say that the acting in this film exceeded what you normally see in this type of production. Everyone did a great job. I found myself able to get lost in the story versus seeing everyone as who they are in real life. The film is what it is and for what it is, it is a great piece of work. I think everyone involved is very proud of it.

Ricky Lee really ddid a tremendous job with the special effects. The nail through Lauren's foot looked so painful and I cringed when I saw it, even though I knew it wasn't really because it was my foot! The vomit scenes were a but to real for me so I couldn't handle those. But that again speaks loudly of what Rick Lee is able to do as well as the actors.

I especially enjoyed osme of the cameos from the director and producers as well as other crew. The music and scoring was perfect for the film. I am so excited to see where this film goes from here. I think its going to have quite a little fan base and people will be talking about it for years to come.

(On an extra note...Don Prentiss is absolutely amazing. He is such a sweet guy in person and so different physically from Rufus. Don did a phenomenal job with the character and scared the crap out of me on the set, he was so disturbingly creepy. But to watch the film...even creepier. Great job Don!)
