Greatest movie ever made based on a cartoon!

Can anyone think of anyone better? Especially for classic sixties cartoons, and especially considering the embarrassing failures of adaptations such as Scooby Doo, Alvin and the Chimpmunks, Smurfs, Yogi Bear, Underdog, ect, this film was just an overall awesome movie experience!

I even looked through this wiki page (link below) listing every movie ever made based on a cartoon and as I read through the list none of them tops this IMO. and I'm not counting the super hero movies (some of which are among my favorites) because they're based on comics which also happened to have cartoon adaptations.

The closest thing I'd think may come to a close (or distant) second is maybe Transformers 1.

Agreed.

Every single solitary movie you mentioned was god awful and that includes Transformers (and Speed Racer). When was the last time a cartoon adaptation was made into a GOOD movie? If ever?

Sorry, I LOVED Speed Racer growing up, I watched it faithfully and yet I found this to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life. It's like a really really bad LSD trip.

I have a theory that people that cant handle fast movement without getting nauseous, seem to hate this movie. and the Bourne Trilogy.

Seems people with more highly evolved eyes/visual receptors can enjoy it for what it is. A pretty good flick.

Oh, without a doubt it's the best cartoon adaptation ever.

Nothing else comes close.

Agreed.

A boat that floats on water can also sink in it.
