1:53:04 or so, during the moguls

Really it started at 1:53:01, but it was at this point, when the narration describes wild action while our sees see a mundane slo-mo jump, that I remember in my theater seat feeling What! What is this, you're wasting time. Enough with the static shot. When will you get back to the style of this movie? Come on, this is going on too long.

The movie obliged me then with a gorgeous piece of outlandish action that culminates in a tiny fragment of time, a split second shot of a full screen showing a car flying through the air and crashing into itself.

So quick you wouldn't even know it happened, unless your brain is paying the sort of high-octane attention Speed Racer asks of it. Many things happen on the periphery, or so close up they almost can't be seen, or almost off-screen. I love a movie with the confidence to challenge my perception.
