Thinking of buying this movie? Don't bother.

I really wanted to like this. The weird cover art....the title! Just to be able to say "check out my favourite movie, SLAUGHTERED VOMIT DOLLS"

But it didn't shock me. It didn't scare me. It didn't mildly amuse me.

I'm sad to say it was boring. It wasn't particularly gory or violent. And not nearly as disturbing as it's made out to be.

The semi-narrative didn't quite hold it together for me. I was expecting a more traditional approach to horror, but what we have here is a strange transition of images set to ambient noise and screeches, interspersed with a girl speaking into the camera regarding how she's feeling. Random 'grim reality' full frontal nudity. Long drawn out scenes without dialogue or action. I felt like i was staring at a blank screen. If you've seen August Underground Mordum - imagine that without as much characterization.

The gore wasn't as "bad" as anything you'd see in the latest Hollywood horror output. From a "Gorehound" perspective, there were probably only a few seconds that impressed me (-when the guitar girl was writhing on the ground) but the rest was all fuzzy and shakey to a point where i'm not sure if a certain scene involved a drillbit or a spoon?

If you're after this for the "VOMIT GORE"(tm), then theres enough to get off the average emetophile. A guy drinking his own puke and puking it again. Lots of vommitting into toilets....etc....boring....

I think this would've been better if all the real meat of the film was condensed into a 15 minute short. Theres so much filler.

Anyway, i commend Lucifer Valentine for thinking up the title, as well as his pseudonim.

I love this film, the commentaries are great. It was def. worth the money.

i totally agree mate. it would have worked much better as like a 20 min short. i thought it was really original, but there was nothing particularly new or shocking. its definatly worth checking out, but i class it more as an art film that anything. its not horror and its not gory, so don't be suckered in to thinking so.

Just imagine being the guy who cleaned up after them...(shudder)

Just finished watching this movie and spent the last 71 minutes wondering what the hell was going through this Lucifer Valentine's head.
This movie is a pathetic waste of time and money. Can anyone actually make out what this director is trying to prove? Personally i think this director should be locked up for making someting like this, i mean there's gotta be something wrong with you man!!
Why this movie was released obviously shows there's something wrong with him/it/whatever. Maybe he thought there are people who would actually want to purchase the dvd with some *beep* up bloke in it thats just cut some birds arm off and then preceded to stick it down his throat and puke into a glass (and everywhere else) and start drinking it and puking again!
Some people call it art, some think its the future in gore and some people even get off on it. personally it does nothing for me but it is a free country, is it?

reply

Obviously the idea of the director was to shock and disgust as much as possible. While it clearly manages to suceed in the disgusting area,it fails in the shock part. This movie doesn't shock and it's not a(as stated by some "reviewers")revolutionary work of art or gore re-invented.It's just a waste of time and talent(because the main actress has some real talent).
In one word:over-hyped.

Directors try to shock and amazing... that part is right but this movie just sucked. Everything had the same distorted camera effects and GAYtarded sound and music. The hole movie was a sheer headache to watch and couldn't live up to the hype at all in my mind. There plenty of other way more disturbing movies then this. I'd rather diarrhea out my mouth and puke it up a donkeys ass then watch this horrible crap again. Infact, I'd rather watch feardotcom or some other HORRENDEOUS Hollywood d-horror movie. I just think the director wanted to shock the audience by introducing vomit into the movie market (as if it hasn't been done) but got lost when it came to the editing part and just mashed it all together in to one big steaming pile of cow dung.

Seriously, if you want to see this movie... i wont stop you but DO NOT say i didn't warn you. Go watch better movies like necromantik, men behind the sun, the guniea pig series, august underground, cannibal holocaust, salo, schram, murder-set-pieces, and/or irreversible... just to name a few

And on the website they want $30 +$5 S&H for this!!

reply

How did you guys see this movie? Did you actually buy it? Seems like a scam to me. $35 for an Amature movie is expensive. It should be like $5 if anything it should be free to watch online.

My buddy gave me this DVD and said to give it a chance. 25 minutes in I had to turn it off. It was sooooooooo stupid and pointless, not to mention incompehensible.

I like hardcore horror films, but this is just pure sh*t.

Maybe the worst film ever in the hardcore genre.

Makes MSP look like a freakin' masterpiece.

Just amatuer hour junk.

25 minutes, huh? I only gave it 15! I never like stopping movies that quick as I want to stick and give them a chance, but after the 15 minute mark I fast forwarded to the middle and saw it apparently never got better. Glad I spared myself the rest of those minutes.

And I'm reading an interview with Lucifer Valentine right now out of curiosity. I respect people who go against the norm, but this guy needs help! Lots of it!

A snuff film is a film in which the actors in the film die not only in the film but in real life as well, as part of the film.

In SVD, neither the characters nor the real-life actors die, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.
