10 ways the film could have been better

here are my suggestions reply with yours hopefully they will release a directors cut extended version of the film on dvd.

Longer length
more character development
more scenes between maya and his mother
more scenes between buwa and his girlfriend
more scenes with khan with his wife and daughter
the film could have been fleshed out a bit more
the ending could have been longer
om puri should have done amitabh bachchans role
should have shown the publics fear of maya and his gang a bit more.
Sanjay Dutt should have been shown discussing the crimes with his team.

an excellent film but could have been better if it was around 2hrs20mins.
had the ptoential to be one of the best indian films ever made but still is a excellent film.

i completely agree with the first post...and do understand that the 2nd person did like the movie a lot. so, he wouldnt agree. i found the movie to be absolute trash. forget about the characters being one-dimensional..i feel the characters had no depth whatsoever. none..zilch..nada. the director is just absolutely trashy..deft editing and sleek cam work, and tons of money and publicity go only so far in covering up for uninspired direction. but tats just the tip of the ice-berg. the script...well into the movie i realized..there was no script at all!! just a piecing together of events. and that doesnt make a movie.that makes trash on celluloid. even the dialogue delivery was abs *beep* the prime eg. of the non-actor arbaaz. he was given the best lines in the film. he probably left his delivery skills home...his dialogue delivery is a guide to how 'not to deliver dialogues'. vivek..i love him..always have..call me biased, but i dont care. yet again...his depthless character came out as a hammy bad-ass. less said the better. and tusshar...well when your sis is funding a movie..its easy to be on the cast-list. the least he couldve done was fake a hoarser voice. over-all...really disappointed. the movie mightve been average..but i guess i expected so much, that its flatness hit me hard. apoorva lakhia should be told to make movies only after he's learnt something called direction!

i too was fooled into thinking that the swish marketing translated into a great movie (and that dont happen too often thankfully - i can usually see past the bull *beep* time i was duped, i dont feel too bad though coz it wasnt me who had to pay for the ticket..

while i dont think the movie was bad or even the concept, heck, i think the whole idea was pretty good, but there were too many problems that i had with the direction of the movie (the editing was okay-ish)..

the first thing i wouldv changed would have been to keep out maya's mum (iv never liked that actress anyway or her acting).. or at least changed it in some possible way..

actually, i think the worst downfall of the movie was the casting..
like someone mentioning above, bachan should have been replaced by om puri.
vivek should have replaced taushar
taushar should have played an officer
abhishek should have played viveks role..i did not like the way vivek had to snarl whenever he wanted to show anger

as far as the police officers are concerned..i liked arbaaz's charatcter, but his delivery was not that good.
sunil shetty was ok..although i think saif ali khan would have been better,
sanjay dutt was ok..and although his character failed to remember towards the end that he was a police officer, so he should at least try and follow the law, not blatantly violate it in the name of protecting it. at least he should have been punished for that. but i suppose it did show reality in a way.

also..why is it that maya had only his 4 friends. surely if he is the general of mumbai, then he should have at least abt 20-30 men (but more like 100) for him to call up on.

also...after maya blew up the gas canister, and sunil shetty was dazed, why did he not go up to him and take him out.

there were too many little things that got to me..but i dont want to complain about it too much, iv seen worse movies lately (pirate of the carribean III)..
i am just upset about what could have been..

yeah most of ur points are correct... i thot the film was okay till the end..

but the final shootout sequence was much too unrealistic..

cops who were taking the lead dint wear bullet proof jackets... backup fire was given when arbaaz khan ordered his guys to put the plank.. but when he did cross the plank then no covering fire.... the place wher ss khan kills maya... who has those kinds of pointed things in their place?! it was a residential building....

n so many things!! police was covering only frm the ground.. dint cover the lobby in the apartment... n maya's men all moved to different places in the apartment...!!!

Quite an immature take on a serious topic IMO with too much screen time spent trying to make the goons look cool in slow motion - and item songs. This film did not come across as a sincere exploration of a tragedy at all.

oki, so was Sanjay Dutt with the mafia, or not????

Criticise the movie all you want, what my point is at least the movie was different and it made an effort to be different, if you are going to criticise then go ahead, that is not the problem but that is how bollywood is, you really want me to go into detail about why you would sing a romantic song with your girlfriend with 30 back up dancers in the back with the same moves as you, like you would do that in real life.

They made a good attempt to bring us a different type of movie which is better then all the bull $%£" that comes out throuought the year. (considering bollywood makes more movies then hollywood)

ok some scenes did not make sense but name me one bollywood movie without any goofs.

if you don't like movies like this then stay away from it and watch your stupid little "rahul, Tina" bull$£$%
