Welsh Films

I am not Welsh, but my Wife is and she is always looking for Welsh Movies. Does anyone know of any other GOOD Welsh Movies?

Thanks

Twin Town ;-)

If your wife wamts to look at Welsh scenery at its best (Lleyn & Ynys Mon) then HALF LIGHT is to be recommended. Am reserving my judgement (ie rant) on the film for the relevant board.

I have heard rumours that the Malcolm Pryce Aberystwyth novels are to get the celluloid treatment.

i have to agreewith alanrw. twin town is the best welsh movie i've ever seen. we don't all actually swear that much though. but the more times you watch it, the more you see in this film.

I think Twin Town was uncannily accurate myself. Guilty of hyperbole maybe, but accurate nonetheless

I think they gathered up all the Welsh cliches they could and threw them in.

Keith and Lily Allen...I agree, don't get me started on those gimps.

What about "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain"

That was decent enough

I'd highly recommend Gadael Lenin which came out circa 1994 - very funny, poignant and sometimes sad film. well worth a look

An old movie I really like, which was set in Wales, is How Green Was My Valley. Had a great cast, including Roddy McDowall, Maureen O'Hara, and Donald Crisp.
