Christian Propaganda
Enough with the preaching, not everyone needs to be told they're going to burn in hell for not believing in your god.

And visa versa
Acts 2:38
I'm The Only One Who Can Walk In Both Worlds -Johnny Blaze
(-1; Troll, but I'll bite anyway)
I think that's part of the point of the movie - Cadi felt genuine guilt and remorse without being told she should. She took action to try to get that guilt removed even though she had been told there would be a "sin eater" at the end of her life to remove her sins so that she would not "burn in hell". She didn't want to go through her _life_ with sin, not just her _death_.
I would argue this is something that people tend to recognize, even without being told.
Actually,
If you had watched the movie (or read the book), you would realize how foolish your post was. Nobody ever tells Cadi she'll burn in hell. In fact, she's told when she dies that the sin eater will take away her sin so she DOES NOT burn in hell.
The whole point of the book/movie was she didn't want to live with her sin/guilt... she wanted it taken care of before she died.
propaganda
share"Propaganda" - you all keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Are you saying that movies should not be made that have Christian themes/stories to them?
Your problem should be with whoever held the gun to your head to watch it, not with the people who made a movie that is obviously not to your taste. Here's a newsflash: just because something doesn't agree with your point of view, that doesn't make it "propaganda".
Well it did not convert me, but I still enjoyed it. I find that people who start out trying to attack films of this nature are often afraid of something.

Lovely response.
Very refreshing. Thank you!
shareIn general I agree with the sentiment "if you don't want to see it, don't watch it." The problem is that it's not made clear to prospective viewers that the movie is christian propaganda - most people who looked at the box/read the summary would think that it was either some sort of historical drama or fantasy film, and wouldn't realize that it's christian propaganda until they were already pretty far into the movie.
One can't help but suspect that the film makers/marketers knew full well that not many people would be interested in watching it if they knew what sort of film it really was, so they deliberately obfuscated it. I agree with you about detesting christians who flame boards like Harry Potter or The Golden Compass. But if the promotional material for Harry Potter made it appear to be a non-fantasy story about an orphan attending a British boarding school so as to trick christians who would otherwise object to the story into watching it, Christians would be quite justified in complaining about it.
You don't want the propaganda. Don't Watch. Spare us of YOUR propaganda. Hypocrit
shareI was really quite surprised how it all turned out to be a preaching film.
I really wasn't expecting it.
Made me laugh.
Actually, everyone does need to be told. Just not like that.
Most people don't listen until it's too late anyway.
and this "your god" you say is not just a god. He is THE God.
You didn't have to watch the movie, by the way. There was about a thousand other shows and movies on tv at the exact same time as this movie was on. You were probably just curious, and didn't like the truth that came out in the movie.

You dont have to watch something you dont like. When watching something you dont like, or you think is propargenda turn it off. It very simple. You know what to do, and wont have this problem again.
