Anyone who gets involved with this director is taking a huge risk of ending their career, if they had one. Charles Dance, be prepared for the phone not to ring after this bad choice on your part or your agent.

I worked with him closely for several months and it was a very good experience. No need for such slanderous remarks on a public board like this.

I have been the Camera Operator on many films with Tony (Mr. Hickox to you) and have been a part of the entire filmmaking process with him. I have also shot big studio pictures like Legally Blonde, The Sweetest Thing, Cinderella Story... The Studio pictures have all been more like a factory job or paint by numbers with very little art or creation and all about formula and time. All of Tony's have been as close as it comes to proper filmmaking and creation as an Art.

You may or may not like the end film. It's your opinion. Not all have been my favorites. But the process as a director/writer/creator Tony follows is with total commitment to the art of filmmaking and this is something almost extinct in Studio Hollywood. It is the largest reason for the absence of brilliant/emotional/original/substance/entertainment or even justification to spend 20 dollars and 90 minutes of life. You have no idea the accomplishment and work it takes to even get one film into production. And you must have no clue the amount of variables, factors and influences that have massive effect on a film and are completely out of the control of the director. will have his day on a the level measured in box office revenue and mainstream attention and then I'm sure you'll then change your opinion.

Don't watch anymore of Tony's films if your not able to really understand them.

reply

Understand them? You have got to be kidding.Tony is a nice guy that made his entry into directing solely on the name of his Mother and Father.Simply put he is a terrible director. He thinks he is "BRILLIANT". His favorite word after every take.
