Pretty cool 80's throwback but in the end... (SPOILERS)

I kinda wanted Topher Grace to realise that Theresa Palmer was just full of herself and ditch her, she admittedly would not been interested in him would he not have lied about the things he lied about and because he did it took him risking his life for her to realise that 'hey he might not be rich, but he's got pizazz'...

Also, had Anna Faris and Topher Grace not been siblings in the movie but mere friends they would have so became a couple in the end

Those are all great points Danger_Things. However, if they didn't have Topher Grace hook-up with his dream girl Teresa Palmer at the end of the movie, no matter how wrong they are for each other in real life. Then, it wouldn't be the 80's movie parody that it was aiming to be, because that's the way they made movies back in the 80's.

And, it's also kind of the reason why we enjoyed those movies back in the 80's despite all of their flaws. Romantic Comedies and Teen movies in the 80's were mostly based upon manipulating young peoples sexual desires and FEEELINGS, as opposed to providing good, sound, reasonable logic like you pointed out.
