I just don't buy Troy as a basketball player.

He looks like a tool in all the basketball scenes.

My rhymes are so potent that in this small segment I made all of the ladies on IMDb pregnant.

lol I think so too.

Rest In Peace Michael Jackson!

His golf swing doesn't look to bad though.

He would have been better suited for golf and baseball. But that's just me.

Yeah. If they absolutely wanted to do basketball, they should have just avoided doing scenes with him playing or they should have hired a "coach" to help him look like he had some skills.

They did. And he practiced hours a day to at least look passable. To be honest, he did an okay job. High School Musical's final basketball game looked staged as evidenced by the bounced pass. Flashforward to HSM3 and you can tell that the production value increased the ability to get better action shots in the opening game.

Watching High School Musical 2 on DCOM 100 movies on the weekend, there is a blurb that pops up during the movie that states Zac even thought he was better at golf than he was at basketball.

Reminder: The O.C. resets to its first episode on POP network April 1 @ 2 p.m. EST

To move off of Troy's basketball skills for a moment, I had always wanted to actually see Troy participate in more Drama class activities. I was surprised in HSM2 how much he wanted to downplay his involvement/enjoyment in performing. How did the previous musicale that he was in with Gabriella turn out? Did he have fun? Did he run into problems? Was he in other productions before HSM2 or after? Even in HSM3 Gabriella was asking him why he didn't just flat out admit that he loved performing too? We see his inner conflict during basketball but never get to see it when he is Drama class. I thought that after the first HSM Troy no longer had to hide it from his family and friends, and that he could do both. If Ms. Darbus recommended him for a scholarship, I would think she would have seen his potential from than just two school musical productions. Anyway, it was just a thought.

I'm no basketball player myself, so Troy and the team looked okay to me--as much as can be expected in a TV movie. I thought it was neat that Kenny Ortega could come up with effective dance numbers in basketball and baseball. I hear that the future HSM4 will move on to soccer. Will they be able to make soccer entertaining to watch?

I think it was more to show how a kid really has a side hobby that he wants to have a career in, however, cannot because his parents want him to do something THEY want. I can relate to this because my parents HATED for me to act or be an extra in movies. It was always be a doctor, engineer, or something stable. Many parents are that way and Disney shows that there are other parents who want them to be what they wanted to do or had done, instead of pursuing their own dreams.

Well drama class, I would imagine just showing him and Gabriella learning techniques from Ms. Darbus. Wen you see him in the first movie, he is basically professional. He jumps up on stage with a girl who he only just met and they manage to TIE a professional Sharpay and her brother.

THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR. COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS HERE!!!
