this was boring

i expected more to be honest. much more. it was ok but not good. the animation was kinda weak and character design was bland. they shouldve gone with an american or japanese animation house instead of a korean. and it WAS korean, I recognized the names in the credits

alot of the stories in it were from the comics (like that giant worm and the floating heads)

nothing spectacular.

Giant worm? What giant worm? Are you talking about the dragon that Liz and Abe faced?

I'm sorry, my karma just ran over your dogma.

reply

dragon? nah, it didnt look anything like dragon but im straying from my point.

this movie was a letdown.

now this.. THIS was MUCH BETTER http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5434666681046246946&q=The+Amazing+Screw-On+Head another of Mignola's work

reply

Just because the creature didn't fit your definition of a 'dragon' doesn't change the fact that what Abe and Liz fought was called a dragon. I'm sorry you didn't like it.

As for The Amazing Screw on Head, it was fun, definately not for kids. I heard that Mike Mignola didn't like it though because it was too close in look and feel to the comics. He likes to see other people's take on his work.

its my fault i wasnt clear. i liked how the monster looked in the cartoon and the usage of the word dragon was symbolic. after all, just because it's called a dragon, it isnt necessarily a dragon.

I agree with CrimsonAvengerFanBoy... I was really disappointed by Hellboy: Sword of Storms - I thought the animation was bad as well as the directing. I was actually hoping it would be more like The Amazing Screw On Head.

Personally, I didn't think the look of the comic translated very well onto the small screen. Tad Stones, the director of the animated movies, said about the same thing when he was talking about translating the comics into animated form. It just wouldn't look right if they went straight from the comic, hence the reason for the changes. But as the old saying goes, you can't please everybody.

Worm is another, old word for dragon. This dragon was of the old-fashioned worm-like kind. It's a Lovecraft monster after all.

reply

I also expected more from it, not that it was bad but it missed something
