Lazy screenwriter warning spoilerish

Why did the old guy tell Ian so much important exposition so late in the movie (when he was in the wheelchair)??? Having all of that information just spelled out by one character late in the movie is just lazy, sloppy writing. I understand the wish to withhold some information, but come on!!

1st half of movie was quite fun, in a Twilight Zone way, but the 2nd half was lame and unoriginal and had too many plotholes. Too bad.

Long Live Lucy and Linus!!!

You know theterror57, I usually just roll my eyes when someone on IMDB says "lazy writting", but this time I agree.

There were two scenes where character just starts explaining things. It was just forced exposition. First one is the subway scene with the old man, and second one was in the hospital. That all could be done much much better if writers give "clues" here and there and not have one of the characters stop and say "hey, here's what's going on".

Also, last 20 minutes were very sloppy and really forced, and went downhill being very silly. Seems like filmmakers desperately wanted a sequel, or even worse, franchise out of this. (altho, I might be wrong about this, maybe producers forced them to do it).

On the technical side of things, I kinda liked direction. I wasn't very impressed with it, but it wasn't that bad (movie didn't overdo jump scares, which annoy the hell out of me with modern horror movies - they all overdo cliche jump scares and use loud noises way too much).
