'I was a Navy Seal, so therefore I am kickass'

Does this guy really have to remind us 10 times every show? I can't stand this guy as it is from his over-dramatic narrating. The only reason this show is worth watching is the weapons. Anyone else hate this guy?

"This is a place of welcoming, so you can just get the hell out of here."

I know what you mean, but the annoying thing is, he sometimes act like a normal person and is pretty good, like where he was showing the FN MK48 machine gun, he was actually interesting and knowlagable in explaining how a MG is used for fire support....why can't he be like that all the time?

I totally agree about how the guy sucks completely. He is so boring and serious in an absurdly over dramatic way. Discovery Channel has some great hosts, like Jamie and Adam from Mythbusters and Mike Rowe and the guy from Cash Cab, but this guy is not one of them. They are all so funny and sassy and I love their cynical humor but this guy seems to get off on trying to scare everyone about the ever-lurking terrorists and such. Boo to him. And the Dramatizations on the show are so bad and distasteful. Why does the show pretend that he's using all the weapons in an actual war/combat situation. Not cool, especially with what's going on over in Iraq. I kind of wonder if this show is made as a partial attempt to recruit young men and women into the army. I mean, he shows us all these cool guns and then talks about how they stop the terrorists. Anyone joining the army should figure out what a lie this show is. No one joining the army is going to get to use most of those weapons. All they are going to do if they sign up is fear for their lives on the other side of the world, all while missing their friends and loved ones back home. It's these kinds of shows that make me wonder about Discovery Channel's educational merit.

P.s. I'm currently watching the show and I just realized that the show is sponsored by the US ARmy. Duh. So it's confirmed, this show is nothing but war time propaganda.

i have to admit he is skilled at what he was trained for, like shooting. But sometime he gets over-dramatic and excited with the damage those weapons deliver, making him look like a "violence nut"

What do you guys expect? The man was extensively trained to be in the most elite special force the US military has to offer. You obviously have not seen what SEALs go through to be what they are. He wasn't trained to be a circus monkey for the discovery channel. They wanted a guy who actually knew about what he's presenting, and not some random actor host.

...Navy SEAL, blackbelt in like six different kinds of martial arts, and owns his own martial arts training program... yeah, he IS pretty kick ass.

He only needs to tone it done a notch though, and he should lose the drama. Bear from man vs wild is a SF to, yet he knows how to present.

reply

Navy SEALs are far from the most elite special force in the world. SAS or Delta and green berets could kick their ass.

No...you should stop talking
