To clear it up

I read forums on here after watching films (often recommended from here)

This was one i picked up for £1

I was initially impressed by the 1st 5 minutes of the film but it went downhill pretty quickly after that.

i would have just commented under other similar posts but i want to phrase my arguements originally and hopefully nice and clearly.

Plot: this had an interesting backstory and potential development. The reality of it was, however, lost amongst either acting/directing and by the time the twist came, it was no surprise and also the plot development had vanished into the ether by that point.
Plot: 2/10 *(should have been A LOT more but they took a good idea and just left it in a bucket)

Character development: Lead character stabbed sister's boyfriend, multiple times it must be said, and is not in any rehab/counselling(that is mentioned)/jail programme. However his character/mental resolve etc is not questioned/developed it is only eluded to by his moments where he sees "the guy in the mask". Only the mad Carver tries to give anything away development-wise - speaking about the guy's father being a carver which then amounts to a big fat nothing.
Character development: 1/10

Acting : not even bad by B-movie standard. this just stank most of the way. As mentioned here a couple of times, the toga guys were amusing-ish, but not nearly enough to make up for anything else. The scene with the girl in the car being filmed, the blonde girl (still alive) being left for dead... the lead character being "electrocuted" (by what?!?!?!) 99% of this would have got laughed out of a kindergarten nativity play as "acting".....
-1/10 (yes that is a negative one)

Effects - this film appparently was filmed with a budget of $1m. Where the £$£% did that go? effects were shoddy at best, EVERY cut i saw was done with all stage makeup visible - oh look the blood is going to come from that very light patch on her cheek. wait, the REALLY OBVIOUSLY fake "blood" is going to....
0/10

overall-
plus points
+ two toga guys were amusing and possibly saved this from being the worst movie EVER (i have seen Dahmer vs Gacy....)
+ Minka Kelly - she was cute, had a decent role and was then just killed off in a move that did NOTHING for the film....
+ the end credits finally arrived.....

minus points
- 99% of the acting
- 100% of the effects
- 95% of the plot (after 5 mins this was just left to graze)
- 99% of the character development

generally - only go and see this film if it is free, and you really (and i mean REALLY) have nothing else to do.
