FUN HALLOWEEN FILM

I just rented The Pumpkin Karver and thought it was a fun film to get me in the spirit of Halloween. It's different, campy, has a interesting storyline, and is not filled with non-stop, endless, bloody tortures, which seems to be the new craze. It's more psycological than slasher and has some really funny moments in it. I dont' know why all the negative comments, it's not suppossed to be Texas Chainsaw.

It's at Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Netflix. Hope this helps you out.

I saw this movie and thought it was a fun Halloween movie too. I like the farm location that the movie was shot at with a Halloween party going on there. Great atmosphere!
There were a few bad things about this movie, like the lead actress, a brunette chick that has the face of an ape and isn't a very good actress. She was obiously selected for her body figure. On the other hand, the other female lead (the one who becomes the love interest of the main charcater) was very good and very attractive. Reminiscent of Cameron Diaz to some degree. So you got your plus and your minus between them two.
I liked seeing Terry Evans in this too. He plays the old Monty character in the Texas Chainsaw remakes. He was a great casting choice for a crazy old farmer.
All in all, it's good Halloween fun. Some of the deaths are great and its very much 1980s slasher formula, feeling like it used elements from Friday The 13th V: A New beginning (the psychological problems of the lead character), Halloween 5 (the farm party), Halloween 6 (The barn death), and others.

Minka Kelly WAS the only good thing about this movie. And not because of her acting skills, because of her looks. Cheap Halloween movie or not, this movie was horrible.

I too enjoyed this film. I loved the whole flavorsome Halloween party atmosphere, plus the killer was genuinely creepy and the gruesome murder set pieces delivered the gory goods.

Just watched via SyFy. Pretty decent slasher with more of an "80s" vibe then today's torture porn mindset. The characters were annoying, but the girls were HOT (Amy Weber, Minka Kelly, yum yum) and the Halloween/farm house setting was a delight! 5/10!
