Live-Action Movie Rating...PG? PG13? R?

How many people think that a live-action movie for Xenosaga would be awesome! Too bad the people who do the voices look nothing like the characters though so it could be hard to get voices right...but would do you think the movie would be rated if it was put into theatres?

I'd say it would probably be...

Rated PG-13: Intense sci-fi violence/gore, language, partial nudity
14A : Violence, Gory Scenes, Suggestive Scenes

...although...some people might think....

Rated R : Intense sci-fi violence/gore, language, partial nudity, heavy religious aspects
14A : Violence, Gory Scenes, Suggestive Scenes

What do you think it would be rated?

It's really stupid that they censored this game to get a Teen rating. So yes, a movie version should be 14-A.

And what's wrong with wigs and contact lenses to help make the actors look more like the characters?

Frankly, it might be better if they chose to go with a miniseries instead.

I made a thread about what the casting should be =D I just forgot if it was here or in Xenosaga II

I bet it'd be PG-13, because they never used the F word XD and the gore wasn't that bad..OK, maybe some of it o_o but it could be fixed

But you know who movie people ALWAYS rank up the gore in movies nowadays ^_^

reply

I would imagin it would be PG-13, unless they pump up the violence and gore and nudity

If these series ever saw a reiteration in live action (highly doubtful) the studio would force the crew to keep it PG-13, because it has all the necessary elements for a summer blockbuster: intense action, large battles, attractive women, attractive women fighting in skimpy outfits, expensive special effects, the prospect of a trilogy, etc. They studio would need to recoup hundreds of millions in advertising and ticket sales in order to make any kind of profit, and PG-13 is the perfect rating to do so, because it can be released in the summer and teenagers can go watch it with all their friends on a weekend without a parental guardian. More people watching=more revenue. It's how Hollywood operates. Would most younger audiences understand the intricacies of this story? Not likely, but as long as they can be wowed by explosions and attractive women, they don't care about story or plot.
