Wrong line.

The train the incident occurs on is on the Lillydale line, east of Melbourne, and yet the caravan is set up in Sunshine, west of Melbourne.

Oh, and when his girlfriend gets off the toilet, she inspects his wound without washing her hands first.

This is the kind of rubbish I think of whilst watching movies since I've come to the imdb forums.

"What's truth got to do with it?"
"What's truth got to do with anything?"

reply

yeah... me too. I was watching a really great movie, and all I could think of was, "um... she didn't wash her hands".

reply

yeah, guilty, i was thinking about the lack of hand washing as well, but she also had the door open, so yeh....

reply

Yeah, but the caravan was set up in response to the murder of that woman on her way home from work, not the train incident.

The first scenes are all filmed on platform 1 at flinders street, if you watch the deleted scenes theres more footage of the girl on the train and another passenger who gets off and alerts the police at the Station.

Does anyone now if it was filmed in Sunshine??? the only resemblance I could pick up on was the near the end when the girl going home in police car and they drive past the Sunshine bus bays at Sunshine Train Station.

She didn't wipe her muff so there's nothing to worry about. What struck me was his total lack of reciprocation of affection demonstrated by her lying in bed awake him playing, rather destructively, with his remote control vehicle. (You Auzzies can manually open the doors on your light rail cars as they slow to a stop?)

reply

haha yeah, every now and then. its just coz the train driver unlocks them at that point.

he was a typical Aussie male - not exactly articulate when it comes to expressing affection, but she got it - that's why, when they're at the car near the end, and she's going off to play at Carols by Candlelight and he's off to the caravan, and he says 'hey' (or something) and then just looks at her (lovingly) and she says 'thanks, you too'.

they had moments of tenderness - he was just smashing the toy car into things that time cos he was scared about the tinnitus and its possible causes.

Yeah, I'm almost positive they're at Footscray station early in the movie, though saw the mention of Lilydale. They also included exterior shots of a Comeng train and interiors of a Hitatchi - doesn't detract from the film though, I doubt anyone outside of Melbourne will notice the errors, which I'm sure the film makers would have noted, but disregarded.

reply

I'm not entirely sure but I believe filmmakers have to receive permission from Connex to film on their trains, therefore they may have had limited time frames or train lines to choose from in which filming on a moving train would be allowed.
