Illogical murder scene

OK, so they made this film with some pieces missing or some pieces not so obvious (I will have to look at the deleted scenes and extras on the DVD tonight) to make it a bit puzzling and prvoke some tinking on our end (for ex., I wondered how someone got the lady's large photo off the train, as they never showed you what happened to her at the end of the initial boxcar post murder scene) but I just cant understand how someone can shoot 6,7 (whatever the count was) people on a train in one car, and no one on the other cards hears anything or comes running out of those adjacent boxcars once the train stops (and our protagonist lady comes on board). or for some strange reason, only that box car received train passengers, while the adjacent ones were empty??

Also: I figured initially the person who took her photo off the train must have been the killer but was mislead that the killer was the fellow in the line up (similar hair, appearance)but later realized it had to be someone living near the police wagon.

It was really late at night, so there weren't many people around therefore not many passengers. Maybe the passengers were kind of huddled together for safety. Or maybe he forced them into the same carriage with the gun. They were kind of together on the floor, except for the wheelchair person at the front (couldn't really move with the others), and one guy at the back (who could have tried to run away).
