this is one of the best Animes i've seen in my life. no movie after Jin-Roh had this much effect on me.

I just recently watched this movie from netflix, and I am wondering if they did not send the rest with it?.. does this movie seem to end right in the middle of the story? is there another disc or talk of a sequel?..

Anyways, this movie is just brilliant and I'm disapointed that it has so little fans. I love this movie more than FF7 Advent Children and I'm a huge FF7 fan.

yeah I just bought it today, and got finished watching it, when it ended I was so pissed off. But now that I know that the second part comes out sep 26, I can breathe easily. Very good anime, cant wait to show a few of my friends it. And why the hell is the user rating only a 4.5 out of 10 (-.-)...

No. the first one died. That’s why they chose the second one.
Otoha, the second Karas, is fighting Eko(the boy/man who killed the first Karas in the beginning) which himself was a Karas before but now is trying to kill Yurine (the girls with white hair)

I was confused by the start and the ending. It seemed as if I was watching part 2 in a 3 part series. Very cool visually though. Nice mix of 2D and 3D animation.
The spider woman was the best!

Umm if anyone could help me, I don't understand something. I have the English version, which I must say is the best Dub I have seen in a while. Jay Hernandez is so cute. Anyways, what I don't get is how it ended, is there supposed to be another one? I felt kinda left behind since it ended like that.

I think it is a great anime now that I understand there is going to be more and this was just the first disc. I think the reason a lot of people arent here is because they thought the movies was over and there was no more. I know that what I thought. I was highly disappointed when I thought it was over. The only reason I found out there was more is because I came online to look for the soundtrack and music from it. I found out from this site that there would be another disc. Also, I don't think it appeals to a lot of people for a few small reasons.
~1. The cover is not the usual for most anime(japanese, anyways) Usually, there is a picture of the cast or a main character, but not one that looks like the one on the cover of Karas. It usually has a more 'cartoon' look to it, if you know what I mean. That was one of the reasons I hesitated before renting it. The cover made the movie look like it was a cheezy animated film that had a low budget(no offense), but I only relized different after I watched it. So, I think many people are turned off from the start.
~2. The movie doesn't really give too much explaination of what's going on. (This leads to reason 3.) And, you don't get a lot of background on the characters. Many people may be confused.
~3. What seems like the cut-off at the end might also be why people don't think it's great. A lot of people might not know there is another disc, as I didn't, and not check to see if there is another disc coming out. I don't think it even says on the box that it's the first in a series(maybe it did, and I didn't read it carefully enough?) or that there are more coming out.
~4. Maybe the wasn't advertized enough either. I know I never heard of it until I rented it, and it wasn't a new release then. I don't know, maybe I just don't watch many anime trailers, but maybe this movie just wasn't advertized enough.
All of these things could be why people didn't like it, and/or why people didn't tell others about it. Maybe they told others they didnt really like the movie. It is also possible that this type of anime isn't for some people. I know I don't always like certain types, and I know some people usually stick to one like romance, sci-fi, or machine related ones. It really depends on the person's taste.
Anyways, those are just my thoughts on why it's not really popular yet.
