I read somewhere that the rights to do their own version of the show have been sold to either the US or Canada, and also to a small European country. I can't remember exactly which one it is but Sweden and/or Norway come to mind. So yeah, TGYH will likely be shown in the States, but likely not the Shane Bourne / Tom Gleisner version.
shareYeah, we have it here in Sweden.
It's incredibly entertaining! :D
Best show in ages...
I swear to God if this show sucks I will hunt down each and everyone of you in this thread and I will campaign congress to declare war on Australia
shareLOL, I don't think you have to worry about that.
shareYeah, bring it on! We will take on the rest of the world with our spears and boomerangs and kangaroos! :P
shareFrom what I hear, the good folks in the US of A love it!! Isn't it gem of a show. We love it down here. Refreshing change from the reality/eviction shows.
And the creators are well known in Oz, plus all the guests. The good thing is that they can't just throw anyone on the show. The pick the guests extremely well!!
The american version was cancelled after 6 episodes. It ran from April->May 2007 on NBC. The chief problem was they decided to put on mostly actors rather than comedians. Actors in general aren't funny. So Tom Green destroyed a set (yawn) jason alexander did his Seinfeld George, and it died unfortunately.
