The show itself... it was OK as I remember. Sometimes some solid dramatic moments, some good acting, sometimes also some really annoying characterizations and performances...

But damn if I don't revisit the sex scenes on this show from time to time. Not for the typical masturbation reason, but just to see how it's done as a piece of "acting". This isn't porno, it's done as a realistic portrayal of intimacy and sex. Any of those scenes with Michelle Borth, I don't even really think anymore "I wonder if it's really sex going on", because all that matters is that the actors convince me they're in the moment, and they always are in that sense. This is a good contrast to something like the film Romance by Breillat, where we knew for sure there was real sex going on with the actors, but it wasn't really sexy or intense in the way Tell Me You Love Me did it.

so yeah, great sex scenes, not so great show.

This was my first time watching the series on DVD. I didn't see it when it was airing. However I was surprise by how graphic and realistic the sex scenes look. I thought True Blood's sex scene was graphic, but this show has them beat.
