This film makes a markery of the viewers!

I just watched the film, and sadly, I have not just wasted my time, but also money, because I even paid for the ticket. At the end of the film I was outraged and astonished that such projects are capable of fundraising. Must've been some good PR work involved there (like the convincing description in the catalogue of the festival - the film was sold out).
What is wrong with you people?! This is not art, this is not a poetical film! THE FACT THAT NOTHING HAPPENS (but literally nothing!) IN THE WHOLE FILM DOES NOT MAKE IT ART. It looks like a below average student project, meant to be shortened to a short film length and you've just wached all the recorded material. Everything this film has to say could've been said in 3 minutes. Not even worth making a decent short film.
There's no dialoues, there's no story, no twists or surprises, far too many too long static shots, there's no psychological complexity of the protagonist, no good supporting actors or characters, acting very average... I have no intention of being disrespectful, but the only reason I can imagine for seeing the film is a range of good looking girls, but sadly, I'm not very interested in that.
If you want to see how the film speaks with no or few words, please see Wong Kar Wai's work or something similar.

I haven't seen this movie, and I love Wong Kar-Wai, but what the hell is a "markery?"

Misspelt "mockery."

I went to a nightclub once, and they stamped my hand at the door. They made a markery of me. I shan't ever recover.

I walked out thinking that anyone who says this is short film material has missed the point (I was just waiting for my friend to say it). Things do happen, the plot is just told in a very unique way. Cinemagoers today are so used to having everything narrated to them via dialogue or voiceover that they are unable to recognise pure visual storytelling. Read people's faces, read their body language and read cinematography, direction, editing. THIS is what film is all about!

And Model Doll Mania

A 21st century L'Eclisse presenting an eclipsed man instead of a woman, echoes of Last Year At Marienbad, a pristine clean G-rated version of Valley of the Dolls

Beauty is truth, truth beauty

That is all ye know on earth

Yes, that is all We know on Earth

And how despicable that is, and how unhappy women are, and men, we are the hollow men, headpieces stuffed with nothing, plastic empty heads, alienated while in the midst of people, we are magnestised by beauty yet our encounters and our whispers are as quiet and meaningless as wind in dry grass or sun-drenched empty cities

Following ghosts of past encounters, moving forward for the sole purpose of capturing something left behind, boats against that current

In the city of your dreams where everyone is perfect and fashionable, but your are lost and unfulfilled and isolated, keenly aware that to-morrow and to-morrow and to-morrow creeps into your petty pace from day to day, blending your past and present together, all you see is the sound of all the syllables and echoes of your life and time itself passing you by, a multitude of sounds resounding, yet the footsteps are not there, what you want is not there, your mind is quiet and stilled, all your yesterdays and todays have lighted you for a fool, you're on your way to dusty death

Él lives his life in shadows, a very poor player, fretted his hour on that stage, all of his expectations full of sound and fury, his existence signifying nothing

Life and Death and Truth and Beauty happened, terrible desperation and emptiness, paralysed forces and gestures without motion and words without meaning, faces without souls and cleanliness without morality, between his idea and the reality a beer bottle was tossed into the street by a filthy homeless person, between the motion and the act falls the shadow of ungraspable memories that hinder communication, between the emotion and the response falls all of us chasing after Manufactured Platonic Perfection, life is not very long, desire is no longer organic, no meaningful spasm for Él, nobody grasps the essence, bang whisper truth beauty soul eclipsed burn those fashion magazines already, and get rid of those pathetic life-size photos of fashion models at bus stops, stop telling poor people any people that their lives will be enchantingly sophisticated and joyous and perfect if they look like a plasticine bone-thin fashion model, fake fantasies destroy the soul, that is my initial reaction to this masterpiece of 2007.

The first time I turned this movie on I didn't pay it any attention. The second time I half watched it. And as they say, third times the charm and I loved it.

Though there is next to no dialogue it is very much worth watching. To me, it's a love story. Searching the city to find that person that you met six years before, Roamantique. Glad I decided to watch it again.
