That is very true, my apologies and I will try to expand on my thoughts without ruining the plotline for anyone.
Mostly I just didn't feel any connection to any of the characters. The dialogue was very stilted and I couldn't work out if it was due to bad dialogue or bad acting. Any of the characters could have dropped down dead and I would have felt no sadness for them at all. Timmy's character being the least convincing. A lot of it felt like it was just trying way too hard to be 'edgy' and ended up seeming forced.
As I said before the first few scenes in the movie were good. They were funny and interesting and I thought it would be good. Then it just wasn't. I'm not someone who has to be spoon fed a story or who needs everything explained to them. I can watch a movie and enjoy it for what it is and enjoy discussing it afterwards but I found after this film I struggled to even describe it to anyone. It made little sense and none of the characters were compelling, the whole thing just felt really flat.
Interesting premise, poorly executed I felt.
Ciaran Hinds' role in the movie actually was interesting, I felt like I wanted to know a bit more about this man and what had happened previously but they took it no where and gave him nothing and so like the rest of the movie it felt flat.
