A message any Real Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) fan should read.

The Rock has been doing kids films for awhile. Yes we all know. The Tooth fairy is the last kids film The Rock is doing for a very long time. His next movie is "The other Guys" with Mark Wahlberg, Samuel L jackson and Will Farrell and then The Rock is doing "Faster" an action movie with Billy Bob Thornton. The Rock has stated himself that Tooth Fairy is the last kids movie he is doing for a long time. The reason The Rock started doing kids movies is so that his daughter would have something to watch him in. But now he is moving on. So please he had his reasons for doing what he did.

As a side note, The tooth Fairy seems like a ridiculous concept, and it is a ridiculous concept. But if you actually watch the movie, that's what makes it funny. Even The Rock makes fun of fairies in the movie, and he is really funny in the movie. Yeah it's silly and ridiculous but the fact that it's The Rock makes it funny. If you actually watch the movie and not pre judge it, you might surprise yourself.

I have to agree with your assessment of this movie. It's obvious in his performances that he has a great time doing the kids' movies and we all laughed all throughout this one. He's not afraid to look silly and that makes it very entertaining!

I saw this last night with my niece's birthday party group. I was hesitant going in, but came out enjoying it. It really was pretty damn funny due to the ridiculousness of it. Its like a parody and kid film wrapped in one. It really is hilarious watching his fairy wings sprout near the end.

Its no Suburban Commando, but close!

When I think of the people giving flak for this film or The Rock "throwing his career away" by doing this reminds of middle school children being "too cool" for something goofy, as if it will deter their seriousness.

bet you had a nice plate of crow for dinner at the end of 2013 when it was announced that The Rock was the highest paid actor of 2013 with several hit movies that made millions and millions of dollars. guess those "KIDS MOVIES" weren't as bad for his career as you swore they were back in 2010

Dwayne laughed all the way to the bank.

He is actually quite silly in all his movies ;) But somehow, I like him

Dwayne Johnson aka THE ROCK rules! no matter what. I was a huge fan back in WWF/E days and I'm grateful for what he gave the business and the fact that he's doing movies now, action, comedy, etc, I'm behind that too! It's all good. as long as he's happy. He's a bit of gimmick actor, not oscar material, but so what. I think he's a great entertainer! That's all that matters to me.

I agree with you whole heartidly! I really enjoyed this movie; it was fun, silly, and total mind candy. Where as adults does it say we only need to enjoy serious 'adult' films?

reply

I agree with the fact that he has done an awesome job doing many roles in *gasp* childerens films then most actors would do & that also makes him a versitile actor instead of just getting stuck into action roles or comedy. & in reality I don't think many guys would be willing to dress up in a tutu just to make people laugh. & the rock did. That's what makes him refeshing compared to some of todays actors. & besides with the way the world is now we could all use a laugh so anybody that critizes the man should just shut up. I saw the film & thought he did an excellent job.

When life gives you lemons make orange juice so the world can wonder how the hell you did it.

Well I have to say I am glad that Dwayne did these "Kid" movies. I do not care for bash and whack movies so I might now have seen any of his other work. When I saw him at the beginning of the Mummy movie I thought he was...interesting. I might not have seen any of his other work except for the kid movies that he has done. He is definitly a major player. Quite woderful. Any actor who can survive making movies with children and animals can do just about anythng.

I've already seen the movie... And it's great, so very much hilarious. It never failed to make me laugh out loud. It's not only meant for the kids but for the adults as well. It's great not only because it IS hilarious, but because you can see meaning in it, too.

reply

Great because his action films Doom etc. have been so awesome don't get me wrong his kids suck too

reply

I just saw The Tooth Fairy last night. It was really fun. I like all kinds of movies, including "serious adult movies", but sometimes I just want to laugh. This movie delivers!

reply

I think Dwanye is nice actor, but his kids movies are professionally killing his career.
Hope he finally sees that.

reply

I only think Dwayne does everything right. Nothing will kill his career.

I dont mind him doing kids movies, The Game Plan was actually pretty good and the whole family liked it. But I gotta say when he first got onto the big screen I was expecting him to start taking on roles as the potential next action hero to fill Arnolds shoes for some good testosterone driven action flicks. He is an awesome presence on screen, good looking, likes to show his soft side and goof around and throw out one liners plus a big guy that can pull off any action flick that they would throw at him. Well you know Arnold did some kids movies too, some good some bad. But he did them after breaking thru with kick butt action flicks. Maybe Dwayne is just doing it in reverse... and we will soon see him get some sweet roles in some big blockbuster action movies.
Too bad we never saw him as Terminator in the newer flicks, he would have been great.

I agree with you also, but what most don't seem to get is that he started out in the WWF, and that alone is a comical acting job itself. When I was a kid and was a huge fan and watched the WWF (Hulk Hogan, Randy "The Macho Man" Savage, "Jake the Snake", etc). It was all acting, and comical at its best, I enjoyed it. Yes he has the looks and body and voice to do serious action movies, but i give him credit for not doing the obvious and "Classified" thing as expected. If he did the expected (Action Hero) maybe we wouldn't appreciate him as much. :) JMHO
