Apology . . . enough?
The way he blasted Randy would have done permanent damage to any kid's psyche.
It's one thing to discourage some kid he sees one time after a game, but Randy is someone he has an ongoing relationship with as his potential new stepson. He's just spent the last few days making a point of building him up and preparing him to face his performance, so roasting his self-confidence like this is significantly more damaging.
There's no way an apology . . . as sincere and genuine as it was . . . could mend the damage that was done.
