Poor casting

Why wouldn't he be dating a white woman? Thug? What?
Don't think the age of the characters was actually mentioned, but a four year gap is nothing out of the ordinary for grown ass people.

If you're having an issue with the casting because of any of that, I don't think the issue is with the casting.

I agree, when I watched this, that was the first thing I thought of...also it was just odd watching Ashley Judd trying to play a motherly nice part...that's not her, and she can only play parts that she can relate to..in other words, she can't act. But you are right...Dwayne J's part was supposed to be a local sports celebrity...there is no way he would have been dating someone like Ashley Judd..She looked too old for him and honestly she wasn't pretty enough..they mixed like oil and water...and no chemistry what so ever.
