The Girl Who Leapt Through Time insanely stupid ways

One of the most idiotic, slow, irritating main characters i have ever seen on a screen. I had no sympathy for her, and of all the actions she did with the machine was pointless and unnecessary. What surprised me the most, was that she SPOILER ALERT`?! didn't understand why the number on her arm kept ticking down after jumps.. Really?

For what it's worth, Makoto only noticed the number on her arm fairly late in the plot to begin with because it was so awkwardly placed - and even once she noticed it, she was looking at it upside down, so that "09" looked like "60". Even then, she suspected it might have to do with the number of leaps, she just didn't have it confirmed until it reached "00," because when you're seeing "60" change to "80," and then two leaps later to "90," that doesn't really suggest a countdown of anything.

She was really stupid. I don't like impulsive, unthinking people like her. But strangely, that's not what I found most annoying about Makoto... it was her sudden "realization" that she cared about Chiaki. She kept jumping back in time just so she didn't have to hear his confession & then all of sudden she realizes she loves him when he has to leave? I know she's a complete airhead, but really?! If you have feelings for someone, you know it. Even if you deny it to yourself, you're aware that it's still there.

Whatever. I need to stop wasting time trying to analyze this movie that clearly makes zero sense.

haha yeah i almost forgot... i just think this movie.... sigh... i hate saying this. is overrated in the anime world

reply

Nah, you not liking it doesn't make it overrated.

It's perfectly rated. It's just not to your tastes.

I found her quite annoying; I'm not sure if she was supposed to be adorable. The way she kept wailing like an infant was just aggravating.
