That is one expensive blu-ray

Currently the U.S., or whatever region is the U.S.'s, bluray goes for a $100 on eBay. And, no, I don't mean some solitary, foolhardy person put this up as a "buy it now!" for $100, all the recent auctions of the bluray had final bids in the $100 vicinity. Yeesh. I haven't seen that kind of demand for a movie since the days when the 3d version of Avatar was an exclusive deal.

Good thing the U.K. version works for me--15 whole dollars!!

Haven't even seen this yet but I've been craving to ever since I saw Wolf Children. Uhhhhmazing!

You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.

Just in case anybody is curious--the U.K. version definitely is region-locked. It did not play on my PS3 (U.S.). In case that confuses everybody--not every "region-locked" blu-ray is actually region-locked, sometimes they are region-free despite being marketed otherwise.

But if you make back-ups of your films....

You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.

Really it's like £6-£8 in the UK

Exploding genitals? My God!

reply

Yeah--that's why I got the U.K. version. The U.S. must have been a limited release or something. I've seen small price increases for other films in a similar position, like up to $40 maybe, but never $100.

Yeah. What's up with that. This and 5 Centimeters Per Second are so expensive. What gives?

Straightedge means I'm better than you.

Ghost in the Shell 2 is incredibly expensive as well.
