It's Official

In an article about SOAPnet's General Hospital:Night Shift, info about additional episodes of MVP were also mentioned. Found this on Daytime Confidential's website. The first quote is from an Assistant EP at SOAPnet.

"Also, fans of the Canadian produced MVP can look forward to more new episodes as the show is continuing with production."

"Also making news, SOAPnet's primetime sudser, MVP. The gossip surrounding MVP has been that the Canadian produced show has already been cancelled in Canada and SOAPnet was it's last hope. Apparently what's not a hit in Canada is in the US! MVP has seen some solid ratings on the cable channel and IF it does get the official pick up for a second season, from what we understand, it will be a SOAPnet owned and produced show."

So I'm thinking they'll make more epi's that are considered to be part of season one and then a possible second season. At least that's how I interpret the above info I found.

Hate to be a downer, but I guarantee that the actors have not been notified that there's a possibility of a Season 2. If you want one, I'd intensify the positive reinforcement for Soapnet. Let them know that it's worth their while.

depending on their contracts and i hope they have all not been released yet they would be part of a season 2 if it is picked up again.

I would love if the picked it up for a second season! This is such a good show! Usually I watch GH: Night Shift but this season is a disapointment thus far. I know GH:NS just started but the "new" staff can't act for anything, I can't stand the new Leo and they are jumping around way more than last season.

So hopefully they will keep MVP on because this is definately an awesome show. We will see! But I was hooked the first episode! Keep rockin' MVP!!!!!

I read that MVP cost 1.5 mil to produce per eppie. I hope Soapnet coughs up some money or at least partners with a Candaian production co. to make a second and more series.

I can't watch GH Nightshift either, I am not a huge fan of Robin and the Dr. so I am passing this season.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it really hard to like MVP. The women are all skanky and shallow and the men, what can I say about the men? They are nice to look at but all Damon does is drink, scowl and abuse women. Gabe is so sweet he makes my teeth hurt and Trevor seems to have taken too many pucks to the brain. Does he have more than two brain cells working at any one time? I watch it just because there isn't anything else better on during that time slot. Trust me, watching MVP for too long will rot your brain.

I'm also torn about GH:NS. I didn't like it last season at all. I thought it might be better this season, but alas, the cast of new doctors just doesn't do it for me. I'm glad they explained Nu-Leo and the tall red-haired doc were adopted brothers. Even I couldn't suspend belief long enough to pretend they were biological brothers. And what is with the Izzy wannabe? If I want to see Katherine Heigl, I'll watch Grey's Anatomy or 27 Dresses.

I realize SoapNet is dedicated to all things soap. It would be nice if they could come up with a good original soap if they want to broadcast original programing.

Love this show, I really want to see more episodes! I hope that Soapnet gets more cause I don't want this show to end.

i know! i'm totally obsessed with MVP. i heard that there will be a season two on few websites but i'm not sure if that's just a bunch of b.s. it looked like some sort of press release from soapnet saying that we could "look forward to another season of mvp."

so it's changing hands to an American production company? seems ironic that it would be more successful there than here in Canada

I hope that the show does get picked up for a second season. I started watching it this summer and I got hooked.

I especially love Molly. She's so unbelievably hot.

With it being a CBC show, I can't see it changing hands to an American production company.

If it were a CTV or Global program, perhaps, but CBC?

don't know, if i like the sounds of that.

years ago, when forever knight was picked up by and american network, or however it works, i think that they ruined it, and it only lasted one more year..

if they want to do original drama, can't they do anything of their own, do they have to keep stealing from us, and passing it off, as their own.

i'm still miffed, as to what happened, between cold case, and cold squad
