Wong Chia Chi never gave a crap about the cause. This is all you need to know to understand this movie. She joins the club for a man she likes, and then abandons ship as she gets fixated on another man.

She's quite simply a clinical case of codependence and dissociation. She does everything she does to please and be with whoever makes her feel alive, because she has no identity and nothing to live for. Her choice at the end has nothing to do with Stockholm Syndrome, but an inevitable outcome of a dominant behavior pattern.

And I think you are both wrong. She did care about the cause and gives more than expected for much of the unveiling of the story. She basically pleads to be released from the assignment when she realizes the dangers of how she is being torn emotionally.

Oh Lord, you gave them eyes but they cannot see...
