I believe the phone that Eric called at the cabin was actually Nick's. Remember the scene where Nick gave Tracy his cell number at the restaurant? She must have put it in that file that Eric picked up after finding out the work status of Nick. I believe the jacket Tracy pulled the cell phone out of was a mans jacket and this would confirm my belief that the phone was Nick's.
