What a messed up movie (spoilers)

Joshua is a little sociopath, that kid needed to see a therapist badly.

Watching the video he made while his parents were asleep so he could go in and get his baby sister to cry was creepy.

The dog dying, you know that little creep had something to do with it along with the animals in the classroom. Then mimics his dad who's devastated his dog is dead, because he obviously doesn't feel emotions the way normal people do.

He convinces his mentally ill mother to play 'hide and seek' with the intention of taking his sister and hiding with her to drive her even crazier. Then acting like nothing is wrong when the dad comes back home.

Then he kills his grandma! Insanity. He gains her trust after nearly rolling his sister down the stairs at the museum and then causes her to fall down the stairs herself. He didn't show any emotion until he saw his dad looking.

He convinces the child psychologist that he's being abused and that he's a scared little boy..which is totally not the case.

He cons his dad into sleeping with him by hurting himself so his dad thinks someone hurts him.

The dad obviously loved him and cared about him, his mom was to mentally ill to show she loved him.

This is just an overall messed up movie. I don't feel an ounce of pity for Joshua.

You can call me 'Mayor Chapstick.'

Excellent movie. Smart. Sam Rockwell and his mother could be the coolest mother and child of recent movie memory. If you can't tell, I really liked this movie.

Yeah this for me is a movie I will only watch once. I bet the mom was bi polar and then having babies worsens it. This goes to say any female on meds should never stop medication just to breast feed because in reality the baby does better with having a mother on there meds and for the other children and family members. Joshua was clearly a sociopath and not sure why so many on here give him sympathy. A child showing signs as he did at such a young age will never change nor can they and they will only get worse. I do not see where the mom or dad did any wrong other then her not taking her meds just to be able to breast feed. The dad worked hard as many do and can't always come home and give a whole lot of time , thats why they have a stay at home mother. IMO the movie was just disturbing and I made myself watch it till the end. I almost couldn't. What the dad should have done was shown the video of Joshua at night to the psychologist, but no that would have been to simple and easy to let her know what all he had been doing and search his room and they would have found all those colored pictures they showed at the end of the movie because right there clearly shows a disturbed kid.

Well, I at least get the satisfaction knowing Joshua will rot in hell for all eternity.

I totally agree with all those points. And I felt the need to watch a comedy after this one, because it was just so dark and depressing. LOL!

The government is in cold storage at Roswell. Aliens are running Washington.

I really like the movie a lot and I think the writers did a fabulous job at writing the story and characters and the cast did a great job at acting them out. I have always felt sympathy for Joshua, though. He is forced to live in a world where he can't truly connect with anyone else and doesn't have anything in common with them. His existence is a sad, lonely one. Most people who would watch the movie see him as pure evil but as hard I try, I just can't look at it that way. I'll always see him as someone to feel sorry for.
