Someone please tell me how this Ends...

I rented this and tried 3 times unsuccessfully to get through the whole thing, I fell asleep every time. I watched probably about the first 40 minutes or so of it and from what I saw I assume this is just another cliche, teen horror flick. It wasn't so bad and I'll probably give it another chance some day when there's nothing else to watch but I'd really like to know how it ends (never thought I'd see the day where I asked for spoilers...haha). In the beginning I predicted that the killer was the sinister looking dark haired guy that was always sort of lurking in the shadows with a grimm expression on his face. so WHO WAS the killer anyway? Curious to see if I guessed right.

It's the mother of some boy who accidentally drowned long long back when all of 'em were kids. The whole gang was ice-skating & the puck landed on an area with thin ice. The gang asked this kid to get it back & upon sensing his reluctance to do so, started calling him a sissy. So the poor kid went there & drowned. His father, obviously devastated, killed himself a few months later. & so his mother came back to get even with the whole gang.

The killer was:
The mother of a boy who had drowned years ago while playing hockey on the frozen lake. The five teenagers then did not help him, but they just turned around and fleed in awe (well, they were only children...).
Why then be dead in three days?
The boy was rescued and taken to the hospital, where his mother worked as a doctor. She was fighting three days for survival but finally failed. Her son died.
