The final scene should have been April sitting in a beautiful garden, looking off in the distance. A maid approaches with something to drink and the day's mail. April flips through and focuses on a postcard from Jacques in Martinique. She smiles and looks off again into the distance. The camera pans to an infant laughing delightedly at the duck quacking nearby. Credits.
