April is HORRIBLE

What a horrible, horrible person. Praying on Lucus.

I'm a little late to the party here, but I agree. Hated April. All she did was take advantage of them.

Her whole existence seemed too contrived even for this film. Is she supposed to have come from France as an attendant then stayed, with no means and somehow walked from the airport down that horrible alley to the bar. I'm sure they could have found another way to make Lucas depressed and become meaner.

Are you kidding?? April is GREAT!

She is a metaphor for the month of April’s warm and inspiring sunshine and love that the two main characters Lucas and Jacques so desperately long for. Therefore, the question of how she enters the bar is irrelevant to the plot.

She counters Lucas's introverted character perfectly. By flirting with the other customers her character uncovers Lucas's brisk temper and deep jealousy. This lays the ground for the pivotal fact that Lucas personifies the young Jacques and the heartbreaks he endured early in life. Remember how bitterly he hinted at how deceitful women are when eyeing April for the first time? So Lucas obviously is a young edition of Jacques which further leads credibility to Jacques receiving Lucas’s heart. Thus, Jacques gets a new lease on life with Lucas’s good heart. The same good heart Jacques once had. BRILLIANT!
