How it probably worked out for April

It's obvious that as Lucas's wife, she would be entitled to inherit his possessions --- and since he owned half the bar, she would get at least that. It's likely that she got the bar itself in exchange for some cash so Jaques could go live on the island. So Lucas actually saved two people --- and I guess he got what he had wanted as well, namely death, although he probably didn't want to die anymore. Sometimes people get what they want, but not at the right time. I was offered a job with Google a couple of months ago, and I accepted, then backed out at the last minute. I would have given anything for that job a few years ago, but now I've changed, and I can't allow my life to be hijacked by a corporation that I will help make successful while spending my days feeling like a prisoner. So I took a humbler job that will give me more freedom, though not financial freedom. But what good is money if you're miserable in a cubicle every day?
