Something I noticed (NASCAR)

At one point throughout the film, Paul is criticising his friend Peter about coming from a messed up family of drug addicts and as he stated it...degenerates. But then he walked back that statement by saying that Peter was a spoiled rich kid.

When Peter is flipping through the channels on the television, he stops at the channel playing NASCAR. For whatever reason, I can't imagine that a spoiled rich kid would have an interest in such a thing. Was his true background exposed at that moment?

No offense NASCAR fans...
