A (remotely) better ending?

Well, since the director introduced the remote control and the "what is reality" questions, here is, to me, a much more satisfying ending.

When Naomi Watts is leaving to run to try to get help, the husband says to her: "Honey, it must've been the pain, but, I totally forgot about the remote. Go to the living room, get it, and let's start this nightmare over".

Then, when Peter and Paul first show up together, they get blown away by the husband and wife.

Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to add in the line "We have our OWN remotes, a$$holes", which would REALLY be a great way to top it all off.

Or, I guess they could try finding Adam Sandler's house and get HIS magic remote? :)

The point of the ending is that it's unsatisfying. Peter and Paul are guiding the movie to its inevitable conclusion. That's why they could rewind events, it wasn't a magic remote.

In addition, the couple didn't find out about the remote. To them, nothing happened. And even if they did, they found out about it long after the scene where Naomi gets recaptured.

Lastly, even if the movie WAS about magical remotes, and the couple had their own and knew they did the whole time, and Peter and Paul didn't do anything about it (even though they obviously know about the magical remotes), and they went back in time to shoot Peter and Paul, they still couldn't say "We have our OWN remotes, a$$holes", because they would have had to go back in time before they found out Peter and Paul could use the remote.

I'm pretty sure the OP already understood the problem with the line "we have our own remote" when he/she mentioned not being able to fit that line in.

Somewhere around the time I saw this movie I saw the movies with Michael Pitt delirious and bully. Michael Pitt is a interesting actor in some strange films. Years later in boardwalk empire I definitely enjoyed that. This movie funny games is interesting because of both of the psychopathic leads and the relationship that they have. I wasn't bothered by the remote control because by that time the husband and wife were such sitting ducks that the remote was just A metaphor for the disorientation of the victims and the control of the perpetrators.

I was enjoying this movie, violence for violence sake, reality in a horrorifying situation. THEN, the *beep* with the remote, made me wanna hit stop right there and then. Don't know what *beep* they said on the boat, I'd lost all respect for the movie at this point. If you see the writer/director in the street, f#$king punch them for me.

Spoiler Alert www.ozdrdj.com is a great website, lol.
