It's a short (a little under an hour) documentary, hardly an epic. It's liberal with long scenes from Kazan's films and frequent voice over from Elias Kostas and Marty, along with Martin in front of the camera offering stories and anecdotes, It's not 'The Departed' or even 'The Last Waltz', it's a cinematic love letter to Kazan.
I wouldn't think it took ages to make!
Sixty seven isn't ancient, if he was Eighty seven that would be different, and I'm sure he's busy but not ready for a heart attack. He loves what he does, and I don't see his being busy as something extraordinary like you seem to. When you love your craft, it's never work, it's passion.
