They TV synopsis is wrong. It's not 20 years, but only 13 years and she doesn't try to solve a murder, she gets involved in the wrong way. She is also not going through a mid-life crisis as she's only 31, married, and has no children. She is haunted by nightmares of an old boyfriend that died 13 years ago. In no way is she trying to solve the murder case, but only "believing" that one man didn't do it. Blalock, as Dr. Jo, is a confused person and seeks advice from a fellow pychologist.
