Why is the movie so short?

Less than 90 minutes....If you've read this book or the others Jon Katz has written about his life with his dogs you know there is a lot more story to tell. The running time suggested that this was a pilot for a TV series. Did they run out of money? Were many scenes cut? I love this story and would like to see more.

yes, at the end I felt like... it's the end? but it's an ok ending I guess...
I think this was for TV.

It was an HBO film, which may have something to do with the short run time. However, they missed a lot of information. This film could easily have been a full two hours long if they had tracked the book more closely.
