A true pearl of a movie

Even if you aren't a dog-person, you should really sit down and watch this movie.. I highly recommend it..

I rented this dvd last night because I too have a dog that runs my life and sometimes ruins it. 9 years ago I adopted a rescued dog who was a back yard breeder dog. 6 years old at the time. He was very sick with all kinds of skin problems, heartworms etc. But he survived all treatment. He was left with one tooth. I had no idea what I was getting into when I got him. For the first few months, he was extremely terrified of any adult person except me. he tolerated other dogs but did not want to play with them. He could not figure out how to get up stair or jump on anything. Come to find out, he was kept for a good 5 years outside in a cage and only let out about 5x in his young life.

So I worked with him. Took him everywhere. Had to pick him up alot to hurry him along.
I really wished I would have seen this movie back then. I see now where I made my mistakes with him.
I do have to say, had this been the first shih tzu I ever had I would never have gotten another. He is 15 yrs old now..and still driving me crazy at times. After he goes to the rainbow bridge, I will not have another one for some time.
