Copy!!

Haven't seen the movie.....but what I heard from my friend is that it is a scene by scene lift of the spanish movie, Carne Tremula by Almodovar. When will these people stop plagiarism?

well it is a remake of live flesh. i haven't seen it either. carne tremula was very different from ruth rendell's original book, Live Flesh. but from what i read in the reviews of Bas ek pal, there were many scenes that were taken from the movies but others that were taken from the book (which weren't in the movie). So i wouldn't say it's a copy of the movie yet. my guess is that it takes both from the movie and the book but i'll reserve the rest of my say until after i've seen the film!

do you call making a movie based on a book a copy?

sheesh, grow up, the movie you are talking about had a different story, this one is based on the book, more than the movie

for a bollywood film, its surprising dark, never seen such hindi films

This is YOUR LIFE and it is ending one minute at a time!

Grow up Rohonnag. A movie based on a book - without obtaining rights for it is still a crime. Yes, it is called an adapted screenplay - but still plaigrism.

'Also liked BEP but I'm not pleased that 'Onir' didn't acknowledge that it was an inspiration/remake of 'Carne Tremula' (which imo wasn't a great movie, perhaps Almodovar's weakest). I'd have to say that none of these two films are similar to the book (which imo is a great character study even though the story isn't that great). There were a few scenes in Bas Ek Pal that were in the novel but absent in 'Carne Tremula' (e.g. the rape in prison). Also imo the characters were more fleshed out in 'Bas Ek Pal' while in 'Carne Tremula' I thought the principle character Victor and Elena were one-dimensional. While I thought all the performances (except Rehaan Engineer) in BEP were well done, In Ct, I liked Angela Molina's (Juhi's counterpart :)) performance most. Jose Sancho was better than engineer. Francesca Neri was wooden and Liberto Rabal looked uncomfortable. Penelope Cruz wasn't as famous during that time...so I guess that explains partly why she wasn't given much importance.

'Bas Ek Pal' does not lift off 'Carne Tremula' scene by scene.
