Sorry guys, but Ewan McGregor just doesn't look priestly..

I may be in the minority on this.

Well he may be hot and all (to some) but at least they could've chosen someone who can persuade me into thinking that he studied theology all years of his life. Ewan McGregor wasn't convincing. His first appearance brought the Robert Langdon in me and told me he's up to no good. Even with his heroic act, wasn't convincing. They easily gave away the culprit.

I absolutely love him and think he's one of the greatest living actors we have...but yeah, I thought he was miscast in this. The entire Camerlengo character was so different from the book...Ewan gave it as good a shot as he could have, I think.

He was eerily convincing actually and he's not even Irish either

Darn good job

Neither was his book counterpart. It was a good crack at the accent I just don't know why, if they're going to change the character so dramatically, he couldn't be Scottish like McGregor!

Hey! You're not old enough to drink! Now go and die for your country!!!

reply

Scotland is primarily Protestant. Ireland, on the other hand, is primarily Catholic.

reply

Well, it's explained that the character is from Ulster (Northern Ireland), which is primarily Protestant. The troubles were still going on when the character was younger, and his Catholic family suffered because of the violence.

reply

Yeah I agree someone older and more convincing. Great flick nonetheless
