THIS Channel commendably airs AmEast on TV

I just saw this on tv, and was pretty much shocked from the first minute that anyone had made a film on this topic.

It's not a perfect film, but any film willing to take on this subject matter deserves an unqualified TEN in my book.

Major props to Tony Shaloub for producing this film and getting it made.

Americans have been sucked into this horror story of Arab/jewish hate in the middle east, not that christians are foreigners to the conflict. This film
asks important questions about taking risks for peace, instead of war.

It's airing right now, on Easter Sunday.

Yeah, I saw most of it but it's like 3 hours! Why does the Egyptian restaurant owner get arrested the 2nd time?

reply

I'm sorry, but I only watched portions of the film. Had never heard of it before channel-surfing this afternoon. I noticed the actor Ray Wise in the cast; I knew him briefly back in the 90s. By the way, how did you happen to choose the term "megafauna" as part of your screen name? I had used that for a time myself in the past.

reply

I always like the giant animals that roamed the plains after the dinos millions of years ago.

Back to the movie I think the overblow how Muslims are treated. Obviously you can't yell Mohammed in a airport but there are like 3 of 4 million Muzzies in America and even after 9/11 there was no real retaliation. Only a few Sikhs got killed!

reply

I have a copy of Once & Future Giants on the desk in front of me. Have you read it?

Er.."Muzzies"?

reply

No, never read it. Sounds cool.

reply

It was published two years ago; picked it up recently in the library. I presume you've seen Walking With Prehistoric Beasts?

reply

Yeah, you mean the TV show?

There is also a really cool book called Giants. It shows the biggest creatures that ever lived in scale next to a human. It's a must see!

reply

Yes, the TV miniseries, basically a companion piece to the dinosaurs special. I'm pretty sure I've seen the book you're describing, or at least similar titles.
