Does this show get any better? How does it compare to New World?

I watched the 1st season, barely stomached my way through it.

I'm currently a bit desperate for some sci-fi/fantasy type shows so I gave this a try. The show has a great concept but season/series 1 was a huge disappointment. So I tried s.2 and it's only marginally better. I give s.1 a "D-" and s.2 a "C-" at best. This has to be one of the worst shows I've ever seen.

Still, the sci-fi/fantasy addict in me wants to keep giving it a try but if it doesn't improve any then I'm just going to give up on it.

I found s.1 and 2 to be horrible. Does the show get any better in s.3, 4, or 5?

Also, how does this show compare to the "New World" show? Is the new one better? Or if it's just "different" then how is it different?

This is a really late reply but hopefully it still helps.

If you haven't already I would say quit. There's a consensus that primeval actually gets worse after season 2 so I really doubt you'll like it.

New World seems to divide the old fans but is generally considered more mature and is clearly aimed at an older audience with more blood and gore. I would give it a few episodes to grow on you though.
