Helen Cutter

I have never genuinely hated a character the way I do this one. I mean I guess that's the point but damn. Was she written that way or is it just me?

I'm just about finished with Season 2, but I knew she was bad news from the moment we met her on Season 1. She's absolutely vile.

judging from her posture, the way she stands and poses all the time

I've just been rewatching season 5 and I'm confused as to what her relationship with Phillip was. When did she meet him and how much did she know about his work? She obviously knew some of what he was doing, perhaps she even told him about the anomalies. But if that were the case then why did she blame the destruction of the future on Cutter and the ARC? Wouldn't she have realized or was she just that blind that she didn't realize it was Phillip?

I know its been a while since you asked this question, but, before she died she wanted to destroyed the humanity. I'm thinking that she set Philip on his track to destroy humanity in case her plan did not succeed. it's possible.

For me the writing for this character is a weakness in the show. It's completely incredible that Nick would ever love and find a binding connection that would survive an eight year separation with such a vile, arrogant, narcissist, sociopath who never displayed a single redeeming quality at any point. The connection between her and Nick never felt authentic to me. I never believe she loved him or was capable of love at all. Nick going back for her was completely unrealistic and retarded given her determination to destroy humanity and her clear lack of any viable worth as a human being. She was like a cartoon villain, totally two dimensional, her motivations simplistic and very shallow. I hated her especially because they could have done away with her numerous times yet failed to do so for no reason I could ever discern. The actress did a great job, it's just the writing for the character that fell short in my opinion.

You make a good point about Aubrey's acting (as Helen). When she smiles, I don't get the feeling that she's happy. To me, Helen's smile always conveys evil intent, while the portfolio picture of the actress has a friendly smile. I think that shows her ability as an actress!

I never liked the relationship between Helen and Nick.

Skoobydoo; The only relationship for her I can imagine I'd approve of would be between her &, oh, Beelzebub...tho that seems sorta redundant.

One of the things I find really remarkable about the skeevy, deceitful, wacko bitch is that no matter how tattered & ragged her other clothing gets, her Inflato-Wonder Bra never stops cramming her ridiculous cleavage right up under her chin. I always wondered if that (those?) explained the otherwise inexplicable hold she had on Nick, Steven, etc. It sure wasn't her personality.

And why, oh why, with all the multiple opportunities various characters had to blow the witch away, did nobody just do it? They knew she was a lying, murdering, nutcase, but....no. ARRRGH.
